Steve is correct about making it even faster. The HOT riders say that they can go into the turn faster if the turn can handle it! So if paving it does improve riders ability to handle more speed then watch out there could be a problem with pro/expert riders being pushed up and over the turn. We may have to build some kind of safety net around that turn. One of the riders brought a radar gun and clocked riders going into the turn at 34 mph.
As far as gear ratio goes. I would stay around a 53" - 54 " roll out for the little ones.
I tried my son on just about every different gear on the market. On a 52.9" he got to turn one first but ran out of gas in the 3rd turn and was passed. On a 54.4" roll out he got snapped at the gate. I found that a 53.8" roll out was the best for his skill level. Remember the rider who goes into the first turn first has a 80% chance of winning the race, so it is very important to get you son to the first turn in first!
Just my thoughts!!!

Richard,
Thanks for the info. We are planning on racing the weekend of the 25th @ Fresno and will be there for the drawing race on Friday. We have heard that the track is awesome and very fast. I wish we could head over for a regular Saturday race, but it's about 3 1/4 hours drive one way and Peter will go stir crazy strapped into his car seat that long. (Maybe when he is older).
 Mark

Steve,
With a track that fast, do you think we would run the same gears as PAL or gear up a little?

Fresno does not have lights,so when the days get a bit longer, the race very quickly to get it in before dark.Like manzanita does on Thursdays later in the year when its light out longer.

..Mark,head down there on saturdays and catch the race.. THEIR TRACK IS AWSOME and VERY FAST,.. Fresno makes any track around here look like a kiddie ride....

Hi Richard,
I see on your flyer that you guys race on Friday night. Will you be having any Friday night races on the weekends that you host the State Qualifiers? If we get to the track early on your state weekends can we get some track time in?
 Thanks, Mark

 dynoracer14,
Yes we are paving turn 1 for sure. It is sounding more and more like Ryan Garcia might go ahead a pave 2&3. Not sure when the last time you road the track? Ryan also put in a huge section of jumps on the east side of the track. They just got the starting hill finished a couple of weeks ago. There is one guy doing back flips on them. Man... that is insane!!!!

Misty,

Thank you for reminding me to post on MP!
Looking forward to see the Castro's this weekend. Starting to see a lot of differant faces at the track. A lot of new riders and riders from Santa Maria, Brettwood, Tony Hoffman, AJ Hait and Brooke Crane. They are getting the track dialed in before our National. Brooke has really improved from the last time I seen her ride FBX. She is clearing the huge double on the second straight. She is right there with AJ Hait.
Tony has also showed why he was once rated Nag 1. This guy is tearing the pro section up. It is amzing how riders of his caliber make the pro section look so smooth.
