Richard,
Thanks for the info. We are planning on racing the weekend of the 25th @ Fresno and will be there for the drawing race on Friday. We have heard that the track is awesome and very fast. I wish we could head over for a regular Saturday race, but it's about 3 1/4 hours drive one way and Peter will go stir crazy strapped into his car seat that long. (Maybe when he is older).
 Mark

Steve,
With a track that fast, do you think we would run the same gears as PAL or gear up a little?

Steve is correct about making it even faster. The HOT riders say that they can go into the turn faster if the turn can handle it! So if paving it does improve riders ability to handle more speed then watch out there could be a problem with pro/expert riders being pushed up and over the turn. We may have to build some kind of safety net around that turn. One of the riders brought a radar gun and clocked riders going into the turn at 34 mph.
As far as gear ratio goes. I would stay around a 53" - 54 " roll out for the little ones.
I tried my son on just about every different gear on the market. On a 52.9" he got to turn one first but ran out of gas in the 3rd turn and was passed. On a 54.4" roll out he got snapped at the gate. I found that a 53.8" roll out was the best for his skill level. Remember the rider who goes into the first turn first has a 80% chance of winning the race, so it is very important to get you son to the first turn in first!
Just my thoughts!!!
